Sugar Plum Snuggle Sack & Hat

A dear friend of mine recently had a baby.  Before her new little bundle of joy arrived, I really wanted to make something special for the new baby.  I perused Pinterest for cute crochet baby cocoon sets.  I found one that I really like, but when I followed the link to the etsy store I found even more cute sets.  I finally decided on the Sugar Plum Snuggle Sack and Hat by Cielo's Closet.

The pattern was great and I was able to complete it in time for the new babies arrival.  I am looking forward to seeing pictures of the new little one in this cute set.

Red and White Daisy Onesie Dress

A few months back, I was asked to make two onesie dresses.  In the request I was asked to make them slightly roomier through the bottom, as the baby that would wear them had a harness she wore to help correct hip displacement.  The customer requested for one of the dresses to be pink and to surprise her with the second.  With Christmas being around the corner at the time, I found this adorable red daisy fabric and just had to make a red one.

I loved the color of the dress and again included a removable bow on the dress and a headband to complete the outfit.
The great thing about the detachable bow, is that it can be turned into a hair bow later on.

Here is the pink onesie dress that I also completed.  As you can see I don't always make the exact same thing twice.  This dress had a slightly different removable on it.  Plus the matching headband was different.

Apple Dumpling Costume

With Halloween coming the end of this month, I am preparing my Children's Halloween costumes.  Although I told myself that I did not have time to make costumes this year and told my kids that we would pick them out at the store.  I find myself making them.  My Husband actually prefers Homemade Costumes over store bought.  As I got out the Halloween Decoration and Costumes, I came across the first costume I had made for my oldest daughter.

I had made her an Apple Dumpling costume.  It was her first Halloween and I really wanted to make her a costume, as my own Mother had made most of our Halloween costumes.  I went to the Fabric Store one evening with my daughter and perused the pattern books and came across an Apple Dumpling Costume.  Being that my daughter was only 7 months old at the time, there wasn't very many costumes in her size to choose from.

I spent several evenings working on her costume, but the end result was adorable.  She was so cute, and I am sad to say that it was never worn again.  My other 2 girls were summer babies and therefore this costume was a a bit too big for a 2 or 3 month old.  Maybe one day it will be worn again.

Barefoot Sandals for Baby

In the last year, I have become an Aunt to three new nieces.  It has been so fun.  I saw these cute Baby Sandals on Pinterest and decided that since I had the supplies on hand, I would make a pair for my cute niece that comes to my house on a regular basis.  I whipped some up while she was napping one afternoon and when she woke up I tried them on her.

My Niece modeling her new Barefoot Sandals:

It was so fun and I have since made a couple more.  There are so many color combination possibilities.  I look forward to making more in the future.

$4 a pair

Pink and White Onesie Dress

I recently had the opportunity to help plan a baby shower for a neighbor with our Activity Day Girls (ages 8-11).  It was so much fun and I had the pleasure of making another onesie dress.  This time I picked a pink fabric to make the dress.

I added a checked pink and white elastic to the waist and then a detachable white flower.  I also added a cute bow and button to the back (but forgot to take a picture of it).
$20

Here is a close up of the white bow.

I finished the ensemble off with a cute shabby headband.

The only sad thing about making these cute onesie dresses is that I have never actually gotten to see one of them on a little baby (in person or picture).  Maybe one day...

Soft Shells Hat and Diaper Cover

A few months ago, I crocheted this cute Hat and Diaper Cover for my newest niece at the time.  I had purchased the pattern, Soft Shells Hat and Diaper Cover, from Sunset Crochet back when I was pregnant with my 4th and didn't have the opportunity to make it before she was born.  I took this chance to make this cute set.

Butterfly Kisses Cloche and Cocoon

When I was pregnant with my 4th Baby and seeing all the cute crochet photo props, I knew that I wanted to make one for my new little one.  I set out to find just the perfect Cocoon and Hat online and came across the most adorable patterns at Sunset Crochet on Etsy.  I purchased a couple of different patterns and then set out to make the adorable Butterfly Kisses Cloche and Cocoon set.  I made a visit to Joanns and picked out some Baby Soft yarn, picking a vintage pink and ivory for the flower.  I spent many evenings crocheting the cute photo prop for my little one.  Once it was finished I could hardly wait until the arrival of my baby.

Once she arrived my Husband took her photos in it when she was 1 week old (we tried to take her pictures at 3 days old, but she was a bit grumpy about it).  In the end, she look adorable.

Dickens Newsboy Set

I came across this fun "Dickens Newsboy Set" crochet pattern by Nat's Niche.  I wish I would have seen something like this when my little boy was born.  I would have loved to have had some newborn pictures of him in this cute outfit.  I had pinned this cute pattern onto my crochet board on Pinterest in hopes of one day being able to make it for someone.  To my luck a friend of mine was pregnant with a baby boy and so I set to work making this cute set.  This was the first time I had worked with 2 strands of yarn together and I loved the extra stiffness it gave the hat.  I did the bow for the bow-tie a  differently then what the pattern had.  I used a bow tie pattern from Make and Takes blog.

Infant Onesie Gown/Dress - Black, White & Blue

I made another Infant Onesie Gown and matching headband for my new little niece.  I just love all these people around me that are having baby girls, because these gowns are so much fun to make.

This time I used a Black and White fabric print and then added a tiny "Pop" of baby blue to it.  Once again I made it so the bow on the dress is removable for washing.

Little Boy Blue Hat and Diaper Cover

A few months ago, a friend of mine posted a picture of a Hat and Diaper Cover asking if anyone would be willing to make it for their soon to be baby boy.  I immediately accepted the challenge and purchased the pattern from Sunset Crochet.

Once the pattern was downloaded, I purchased the yarn at Walmart.  I wasn't sure how much yarn it would require, so I bought several skeins of yarn (plus they were on clearance).  I was so excited to work on this project that I started it right a way.  The instructions were great to follow and I was able to crochet the hat in one evening of watching a couple of sitcoms with my hubby.  The following night I was able to complete the diaper cover.  Both whipped up so quickly.  The only thing on the pattern that wasn't stated was how close together the tabs of the diaper cover were supposed to go, so I just guessed.

Once I was finished with both, I added the brown buttons.  I was so excited about the finished result and it took less yarn then I purchased, only needed one skein.

I have since crocheted several more sets, to have ready for baby gifts in the future.  I added white buttons to another set I did.

You can purchase the pattern on etsy, by visiting the shop Sunset Crochet.  Or if you prefer, I would be more than happy to make a set for you.

Infant Onesie Gown/Dress - Blue & White

I have seen cute Onesie Gown/Dresses on Pinterest and Etsy since my baby girl was an infant and wanted to make one for her.  Due to lots of things going on in our lives at the time, I was never able to make her one.  I recently received an invitation to a Baby Shower and since the new baby is to be a girl, I decided that I would finally make a Onesie Gown/Dress.  I found a couple of Tutorial links on Pinterest, one at Banana Bear Blog and another at U Create.

I loved the finished project. I made it so the bow on the dress is removable for washing.  Now that I have made this one, I hope to make a Toddler one for my little girl.

20 gown only
I also made a headband to match.
