Turkey Shirts and Bows

A friend of mine had pinned a pin on Pinterest that had Turkey Shirts on it.  I then found a great Tutorial on The Ribbon Retreat Blog for some Turkey Shirts and bows.  I thought these would be a great to make for my girls for Thanksgiving.  I contacted my dear friend and asked her if she wanted to get together and make them, and she was as excited as I was to make these cute shirts.  I packed up my sewing supplies and ribbon and headed over to her house one day to make them.  We had so much fun putting them together.  The tutorial had the great suggestion to just baste the turkey's onto the shirts, so you could still use the plain shirts in your child's wardrobe.  I loved this idea and love that I can add them to bigger shirts next year as my kiddos grow.

$5 each

I also made a turkey headband for my littlest one using feathers instead of ribbon for the turkey feathers.
$6 for feather Turkey Bow or $8 for Headband

Wedding Dress Sash & Hair Piece

I had the great privilege to help my new Sister-in-law with her wedding ensemble.  She wanted to wear her Mother's wedding dress, but wanted to make some alterations to it.  She had me remove the sleeves and to make the dress more modern we talked about adding a sash.  I took on the challenge to do this task, even though I had never made one before.  The sash turned out fabulous and I also made a hairpiece for the bride out of the left over satin and added some lace and feathers.  The bride was beautiful on her special day.

Fall Pillowcase Dresses

Since my Brother was getting married and she wanted the color fall orange for her colors, I decided that my girls fall pillowcase dresses I made them 2 years ago (and still fit) would be perfect for them to wear to the wedding.  The night before the wedding as I laid in bed, I remembered that I still had fabric left over from these dresses and hoped that I had enough to make one for my baby girl.

The next morning I woke up early and went to my fabric stash to see if I had enough and to my delight I did.  I spent the next hour making my baby girl her own fall pillowcase dress.

Infant Onesie Gown/Dress - Blue & White

I have seen cute Onesie Gown/Dresses on Pinterest and Etsy since my baby girl was an infant and wanted to make one for her.  Due to lots of things going on in our lives at the time, I was never able to make her one.  I recently received an invitation to a Baby Shower and since the new baby is to be a girl, I decided that I would finally make a Onesie Gown/Dress.  I found a couple of Tutorial links on Pinterest, one at Banana Bear Blog and another at U Create.

I loved the finished project. I made it so the bow on the dress is removable for washing.  Now that I have made this one, I hope to make a Toddler one for my little girl.

I also made a headband to match.

My Baby Girl also loves the new headbands and here is her trying to grab them while I take a picture, plus how she likes to wear them.  Such a cutie!

Over-the-Top Baby Headbands

This past September I went a little crazy making some over-the-top headbands for my Baby Girl.  She loved them.  The Gray Headband was more like a hat then a bow, but she loved it and my older girls could wear this one also.

Baby Headband in Gray:
Baby Headband in Purple;

Red and white Feather Headband:

The three headbands below were very simple.  I had seen the top flower pieces for clearance online and had to get them, as I felt they would make great baby headbands.  By just adding the elastic band, they are simply perfect and elegant.
