Clippies

I recently tried something new. I call them clippies. A Friend and I were shopping at the Outlet Mall one day and while in the J Crew store came across some "clippies" that were a puff of tulle. The price for 2 clips way to much in my opinion. My Friend asked if I could make them, I told her I would give it a try, so the next day I set to work on trying to make something similar and came up with these (button added, as I thought once I had the puff going I tried it with a button and I thought the look was cute).

I have seen these flower clips and wondered how to make them from ribbon. I saw a how to in a book one day and thought I would try it out.

These clips were made from left over ribbon (that ribbon left on the spool that is under 12")

I recently wanted to hang a new valance in my girls' room but couldn't find anything in particular that looked right. I new I wanted something cute and fun and would show my girls' personalities. I I first came across some butterfly petals on clearance at Michaels and since my youngest daughter loves butterflies, we got them. Then I found a sheer swag at BigLots and decided to cut it down to size for a valance. Since my oldest loves flowers, I purchased some Silk Daisy's. Not knowing quite how it would go together I kind of let it sit for a bit. Then I was working on some Hair bows one day, using my double ruffle ribbon and had a great idea to use the double ruffle ribbon as the hangers for the valance and then make ribbon flowers and place the Daisy's on top and this is how it turned out.

My girls love their new valances.

Salmon and White Bows

(This was one of my favorite bows I made over the summer, unfortunately I no longer have it as it disappeared while my girls and I were having lunch at CPK, we looked everywhere for it and the waiter even checked to see if it feel into the storage pocket under the bench, no luck, so I guess someone else is now enjoying this bow and hopefully soon I will make a new one. Just happy I got a picture of it before it disappeared)

Dish Soap Dispenser

I got this idea from my Mom's house, a neighbor had given this to her. I liked it and so I had a glass bottle with a nice shape and set out to gather the rest of the supplies for it. This was super easy to make and looks great next to the sink.

Supplies:

-Glass Bottle (mine was a Zango bottle that I stripped the stickers off of)

- Spout (I found mine at a store called Spoons & Spice for about $3.00)

- Artificial Leaf Vine (I purchased mine from the Dollar Store and only used half the vine)

- Liquid Dish Soap

Step 1: Strip any stickers off your bottle if you are reusing a bottle

Step 2: Put your vine into the bottle and cut it once you have as much inside as you like

Step 3: Pour in some Dish Soap
Step 4: Put on the spout
